Alaskan beauty

21 07 2008

Just a few from our trip to Alaska.  What a gorgeous place –well, many gorgeous places – it’s a big state!

Click on the pictures to see them bigger.

Colorful rocks inside Denali National Park – can you see the little white dots?  Click on the picture to make it bigger.  Those are mountain sheep – gives you an idea of the scale of the place. WOW.

Denali  – this is as close as we got – 70 miles away.  You can see both peaks!  We were lucky, since it is often covered by clouds.  They say “It makes it’s own weather” because it’s so huge.

Greg and I took a helicopter flight to land on this glacier.  What an amazing view!  Such a special place that few get to see.  I drank the glacier water!

crossinsnow-web1.jpgAs I was walking up the hill, I saw this in the snow.  I swear I did not place it there!

Cool.

I like this one better because you can see her tail and foot, and the eyes are sharper.
